THE EXHIBITION

The exhibition ECOLOGICAL RIPPLES is a platform for the wide-ranging context and ripple effects created by sustainable design, addressing multiple aspects going beyond the structure itself, such as time and place, culture, economic and social factors.
The exhibition will present more than twenty architectural projects by Geotectura Studio created in recent years, built and unbuilt, through physical models and augmented reality. Each project and model represents an alternative of energy independence and environmentally-aware building. The diverse models will be presented on top of oil barrels, a by-product of the old world based on fossil fuels and environmental pollution.
The exhibition present ground-breaking ecological projects built in Israel and around the world by Dr. Joseph Cory and colleagues, alongside unrealized ideas. Although some projects have not materialized into a built structure (something which possibly transforms them into ecologies in their own right), there is much to learn from them for future works.

The exhibition will include a series of events touching on the wider circles of environmental discourse, such as media and environment (14/11), landscape architecture and environment (21/11), materials and environment (5/12), technology and environment (12/12) as well as research and sustainability. ARCHITECT JOSEPH CORY // GEOTECTURA STUDIO

Geotectura Studio focuses on sustainable design. Since its establishment it has created varied projects all with a common green base, forming the design compass the studio follows. Many projects embrace multi-disciplinary cooperation in order to create ecological agents of change through collaboration with other designers and creators and their exposure to ecological design, through work with communities, students, clients and the general public as part of sustainable work.
Architect Dr. Joseph Cory is a graduate cum laude from the Technion (Israel), with practical and academic background in ecological design, a graduate of the Heschel Center Environmental Fellowship program. Cory is a registered architect and holds a Ph. D. in architecture (Technion, 2008). Since 2008 he is working in his studio, Geotectura. His work and research are widely published and exhibited in Israel and internationally and have received wide acclaim. The studio has won more than twenty local and international design awards, designing ecological structures at the cutting edge of sustainable design. Cory is a faculty member and senior lecturer at the Shenkar College department of interior building and environment design.
